I will do it today. I will run straight through

I feel the adrenaline pumping through my body, I look up, all that can be seen is the buildings that reach the sky.

Everything else in the city is a blur. I'm alone. The city is terrifying, and I begin to run, pushing my way through the crowds of people, hoping I can find someone. Anyone.

My breaths begin to come out ragged. I tighten my grip on the knife in my pocket, my one comfort. I had to find them. I continued to push my way through the crowded city.

The peripheries of my vision closed into a blurred circle, the area outside the edges impossibly invisible. The center subject fueled my thirst and spurred me forward.

I'd been playing around the rim, you know, just goofing around on the edge and now I was in a black hole.
