- tracks in the Dunezan mudflats. Yukon Jack was trespassing on sacred Chippewa burial ground, but he would not rest until he penetrated BeaverSquatch's pelt with his hunting spear.
- And there he was - BeaverSquatch himself, the bane of Yukon Jack. He hefted his mighty spear, ready to let it loose, when he felt a hand around his ankle. He hadn't left the burial
- of his murder victim finished, and now that mistake was coming back to bite him. Turns out that victim was actually a necromancer, who had become a lich for one purpose: revenge.
- The murderer was found hiding in his garbage can when arrested. The police held their noses and hosed him down before the interrogation started.
- "Just where did you get those banana peels? And that pineapple! How could some lowlife like you get their hands on a piece like that?" The interrogation had barely begun
- as Fruit Detective Robert Papaya slapped him with a hand covered in grape jam. The prisoner yelled teary eyed, "I don't know who gave me those banana peels! I'm just a farmer!"
- Detective Papaya glowered hard into the grape jam-smeared face of his victim and saw the desperation in the farmer's eyes. They stared at eachother a minute, then fell in love.
