- Gone were the days when a man could just grab the nearest concubine.
- No, if he tried that now he'd end up with a slew of pointy prickers sticking into him all over. It was like cuddling a cactus! Why, oh why couldn't Dirk requite with the concubine?
- Because Dirk had to requite with a six-mouthed wolverine. This made it really hard to

- Having a Hydra as a pet was irksome at times. Porcupines are not really on their diet & the inevitable happened: quills got lodged in the throat of mouths #1-5 & #9. The vet said

- Maybe, all this time, all she'd been was a teenage hydra at heart, desperate to use her many heads to kiss people badly, drink illegally acquired alcohol, and go to prom with many

I have a theory that certain terms or concepts stimulate associated concepts from a sort of "collective unconscious." These associations aren't always obvious. Here in line one is "grab the nearest concubine." This leads to "pointy prickers... like cuddling a cactus" in line 2, perhaps suggested by the rhyme of "porcupine," which is something you wouldn't want to grab. OK, concubine -> porcupine -> cactus. That makes sense. But What seems to not makes sense is that line 3, "Because Dirk had to requite with a six-mouthed wolverine. This made it really hard to" then apparently carries the hint of "porcupine" to line 4, where "porcupine" is explicitly stated. If I asked people what word line 3 made them think of, would many of them say, "porcupine?" I see this type of thing more than rarely.

So do I. Collective unconscious is a mysterious thing. Perhaps the association was that wolverines have sharp pointy claws? Or it could also be oblique: Where there other folds written or added to at the time of fold 3 featuring porcupines?
