Benny, the dog went home from the park feeling

  • Benny, the dog went home from the park feeling sad that day cause Jack, his owner lost his ball in the lake. The next day,Jack brought him a beatyfull yellow ball, bigger and better
  • - by anyone else's standards. Benny, though, fell into a deep depression, and seeing the new shiny ball and realizing it meant nothing to him only worsened the despair he felt.
  • In years past, Benny was a pinball wizard. But no one cared for the deft way he massaged the flippers enticing the mercurial orb to an extra game. It was all brutal button mashing.
  • And the analog entertainment boxes were becoming ever scarcer located in seedy old bars. The few that remained were in disrepair. Benny became the Pinball repairman for a few retro
  • pinball machines, a boring job til Benny met the "Pinball Wizard," an old drunk guy wearing a wizard hat he'd made from bar napkins & swizzle sticks."Step aside Junior" the Pinball
  • Wizard shoved Benny into a nearby wall to clear the path to the pinball machine. Upon reaching it, he began to massage its sides, licking the glass as if all of this was some sort
  • of strange ritual. Ritual for what though? Benny lay near the bottom of the wall, bleeding slightly. The pinball machine began to glow, with the ritual nearing completion until
  • the machine said, "Greetings Starfighter." An alien with the name Centauri approached Benny, a pool of blood around his head.
  • How the alien managed to keep the blood pooling around his head as he approached, Benny would never know. "So I'm a Starfighter now?" Benny asked, extending his hand to the alien.
  • But the alien didn't respond. Its beady, glistening black eyes shut. The awkward silence made Benny question this whole "Starfighter" thing more, but nobody was left to answer.
