The man strolled down the street, the strangers

  • The man strolled down the street, the strangers staring at him. Though as appalling as this man was, he was important to the social structure of the city, you see
  • rat catching is a lost trade. "RATS! 50 pence a tail!" he yelled at each passerby banging on a tin plate with his cudgel. In the past, he was a day-trader, but his career switched
  • to rat catching & there were plenty on Wall St. but few had tails.Coat & tails were worn at the Hedge fund ball he thought inspired."Like Peter the Great with a giant scissors I'll
  • not only cut off their tails, but I'll cut out their hearts as well!" He didn't realize, however, that those on Wall Street were, literally, heartless. "Damn the torpedoes!"
  • Shouted the stock broker. Nathan hated that guy. He'd been at Strakley's old desk for the last 2 months. A real throwback to the lame weak sauce days of mortgage loans and beer.
  • Nathan tapped his pencil angrily against his desk. The stock broker ( Nathan didn't even bother to remember his name) kept jabbering about his ex, Linda who was always kind to hi
  • -strionic animals, but never to him. Finally, Nathan exploded, "Just shut up about your ex Linda and tell me how my damned stocks are doing!" The stock broker crumpled inward,
  • Having eaten a pizza Nathan ordered with killer tomatoes on the top. Now she felt sick as a dog and grew a tail and fur. Linda's ears became bigger. She bit Nathan and he vanished.
  • Nathan rubbed his nose where she had bit him. His fingers came away bloody. He raced around the table to where Linda vanished & jumped at the same spot. He too vanished. The pizza
  • sat abandoned on the table, waiting for some poor soul to take a bite. But no one would be dumb enough to-hey, free pizza!

Very interesting how it starts out with a rat catcher asking for money per tail, and winds up with an irresistible pizza that appears to turn people into rats.
