- The boy looked at the goat. "I can make it to the gate if I run," he thought. But the boy was forgetting rule number 9 from Spotnicks Updated and Revised Guide to Goat Encounters
- You cannot run away from a goat. So as the guide would've predicted, the goat chased me down. It pinned me to the ground with its hooves. But then it did something unexpected...
- It looked me in the eye for three full seconds, then began to sing Rick Astley's 'Never Gonna Give You Up' in a rich baritone voice. I was stunned. Never in my life have I
- experienced such melancholy listening to a carnivorous plant sing
- "Let It Snow" on the evening of the first real snowfall of winter 2016-17. Auntie Flo wore her blue coat and matching hat during a snowball fight with Auntie Grace. An old ritual.
- Then, we all went inside, and Aunite Flo served us all warm hot cocoa - the best treat for a winter's day. I couldn't wait until Christmas Day. School was already out, and Santa
- was only a week away having gotten stranded in Trenton, NJ with sleigh issues. Aunite Flo reassured us that Santa would indeed be delivering presents- just a little late this year.
- When April 14th rolled around, the Christmas tree was a pathetic stick in the living room and Santa had yet to come. "Maybe the reindeer had the flu," explained Auntie Flo, but we
- forced the moment to its crisis by bleating it out. “I made a wish that Santa was dead and the New Years Fairy killed him for crack money. I am so sorry.”
- He shrugged, and sent me a devious wink. "Can you make another wish?Kill the New Years Fairy and steal her crack. Santa can rot in his sleigh"

This is a very strange, but also perhaps richly symbolic story. I think it's interesting that Futique mentioned "bleating it out" ... almost (although unknowingly, but) strangely referencing the goat mentioned from the very first fold.
