Right now I am hearing their dreams. I don't

  • Right now I am hearing their dreams. I don't know how... I guess it is like a podcast but not really. Way beyond VR. Anyway, this guy, he's from Ohio but dreaming about Berlin in
  • the heady days after the wall fell. He's Detlef,a collector of bricks from the grafitti-covered West Berlin side who sells them to the 1st American tourists. But then his neural feed
  • went haywire and he had to reboot his whole neural network, and now he can't remember what happened last week.
  • But he knows what happens in the future. He doesn't exist in the future. He is forgotten. So he can't recall what happens at any time.
  • One day, he held his phone in his hand, and wanted to make tea. Unfortunately, he was forgetful and left his phone in the kettle to boil and steep for 5 minutes.
  • The resultant tea tasted of unnecessary exclamation points and emoticons. It left a bad taste in his mouth. He poured the tea down the drain, where it traveled through the sewers
  • in the company of "You knows", "Likes". "Huhs" and "Basiclys". Eeesh! What a foul soup of illiteracy that was! Talk about bad taste! - Take my mother in law - please!
  • I took his mother-in-law to the park. We had a nice conversation while she knitted a shawl. All in all, it was a good day. I really didn't understand his hang-ups about her. Until,
  • She began to cite the names of all the flowers. I had mostly forgotten. She recorded them meticulously.
  • on a yellow book, hidden deep within the depths of Hell. Some say that if a demon touched it, it too would turn into a flower, rooted into the Earth for eternity.
