- 2:25 pm, 10/21/12, the day the Earth was destroyed. For all our fears of alien invasions, asteroid impacts, and supervolcanoes, it was the lowly Sea Monkey that brought about the
- Mayan Prophecy. How did sea monkeys make the Mayan Prophecy come true?
- It all began with Mayan Boy King Ceibal who had spotted an ad in a comic book for sea monkey pets. Two days later, they'd arrived, freeze-dried. The directions said: Just Add
- exactly 233 mls of water (no more and no less) then shake for 20 seconds. Ceibal wondered what would happen to his sea monkeys if he added 234 mls of water surely nothing harmful
- . With a mischievous grin, Ceibal counted 234 mls and only shook for 19 seconds. Two variables changed instead of one! This is what rockstars must feel like! His sea monkeys began
- To investigate the infiltration of their lairs by foreign entities who looked like Martians. Sea monkey #1 spoke out against the removal of waterproof installations designed to
- promote the spawning of Sea Monkeys. "We are a dying breed," Sea Monkey #1 argued, 'ever since some brat blabbed that we're just brine shrimp! We need to be reconstituted before
- this news reaches my people, the Sea Monkeys. If they knew their true identities they would know his true identity as well and he was not prepared to be prey to that pity.
- But the Sea Monkeys are oblivious. Their species is incredibly unstable both physically and mentally. They had no idea of the horrible fate that was flying right into their faces.
- The moon slowly rose in the night sky, the fading echo of an unholy shriek from thousands of tiny frothing mouths the only legacy of the Sea Monkeys.

So the sea monkeys brought about the Mayan Prophecy of the end of the world, but being rather dim, they didn't realize it would be their end, as well.

The Mayan prophecy of the Seamonkopalypse: ... and lo, a mischievous young Mayan boy will take not 233 but 234 ml of tap water, and he will stir, not shake, for not 20 but 19 seconds, and he will empty the burbling mix, into Lake Atitlan, O' there will be much frothing in the deep,
