- One dark night, I took a walk to the grocery store.
- As I walked along, I thought about how I didn't have any money, my kids were brats, my husband was a thug. Right there & then, I just decided to just keep walking, never to return.
- That is how I came became involved in race walking. At the Olympics, I had already received one penalty and then tension meant you could almost cut the air with a knife. Race walki
- ng was my dream. I drank a rockstar before the Olympic race. I thought about mama as I got up to the start line. My calf started to cramp. No. Please, not now. It convulsed
- , pulsating through me. A strange cat-like cry escaped my lips as I doubled over at the start line. I had to race. For Mama. She would be disappointed if I gave up now. My cramp
- ons dug into the icy slope that composed the beginning of the race. Mama said they'd come in handy and she was right. I pulled away from the starting line and
- Raced towards the folding stories booth where I folded stories with the likes of Peter Arno and Peter Lorre. This was filmed for posterity by Man Ray. How exciting could life get?
- "I don't know. How exciting could it get?" asked Man Ray."How about I take a Rayograph of you raising this Mannequin while singing 'Manhattan'." I suspected there was a Portmanteau
- full of money in it for me, so I did as Man Ray said. Well, Man-Ray claimed it was his artistic vision that earned the prize for the piece, but I maintain that he couldn't have
- done it without me or his muse. Kiki was adamant that he admit this. We went on a road trip together afterwards, a little known fact from the 1920s Paris art world. Now you know.

Wow, Kiki's story is just as exciting as Man's.
