Unfortunately the Russian wouldn't have it. "Ты убил мою семью!" the man screamed gibberish, pulling out a semi-automatic rifle. Now he definitely couldn't continue his jog.

"Look Russian man" He said, "i'm just out on a jog, taking in the Russian countryside. Now would you please point that semi-automatic rifle at something your own size."

The not-very-intelligent Russian guy did as he was told, and pointed the gun at a bystander that was more his own size.

but the not-very-intelligent Russian guy was above-average-in-size, and the target he picked was in fact Beth Phoenix, who was already in a crabby mood. Before he could shoot her

Beth had thrown a drink in his face and stormed out of the bar in a huff. The simple-minded Soviet spy followed her out, only to find that she had escaped in a hot air balloon.

Since that wasn't the case, Beth hadn't escaped in a balloon, the Soviet spy went back into the bar. Then he realized that he should have stopped her from getting in that submarine

The stultified Soviet spy ran to his secret spy radio inside a pram to alert Check Station Iota that Beth had escaped in a submarine & not in a balloon as had been predicted by KGB
