I was going to question crime-fighters being "villains", then I read America and thought of the 60s.

According to Batman #259 'The Shadow' saved Bruce Wayne as a boy thus passing on the dark crime fighter gauntlet, so the encounter between Catwoman & The Shadow seems plausible. I was thinking the cat litter coating might come in handy, but clearly this was not so.

When you say "Batman", you mean "a man in a bat costume", right?

I meant an issue of 'Batman' the comic published by DC comics in 1973 (according to the wikipedia entry on 'The Shadow'). I didn't mean the 259th clone of the man in the bat costume told me this. ;-)

Oh, I knew that. My only experience outside of "Smallville" and "LEGO Batman" (can't wait for the sequel!) has been the "Golden Age of Radio" episodes that have (rarely) been about said characters most Sunday nights. I recall some Superman + Man In a Bat Costume crossover episodes.
