What? There's no story with 'perambulation'

  • What? There's no story with 'perambulation' in it? The town of 'Where's Flint?' was founded by Judge Flint who set out on a perambulation of it's borders never to return.
  • They say that Judge Flint's perambulations turned into permanent peregrinations when he was walking through Cutter's Pass at dusk and the town's borders became Reality's borders.
  • But those who say that have been trying to improve their vocabulary by playing "free rice." That's why he never listened them. When they said, "one in the hand is worth two in the
  • face", they were scolded by Sister Mary-Juana, the third grade teacher, who corrected them. "It's vice-versa!" she growled; a ruler was then liberally applied. He alone escaped
  • penile measurement by claiming he'd had a recurrence of crabs. But everyone knew he still couldn't break through the 7" barrier. The Sister knocked a pube off the ruler and said
  • it wasn't hers but the Father's."He's constantly worried about measuring up," she added. The young man blinked rapidly. "Ah...TMI, Sister." It was time to hightail it out of there.
  • Four years later, the place was demolished to make way for condos. As if we needed any more high rises. But, thanks to the economic collapse, they were never built.
  • The rubble left behind after the sanitarium had been demolished was as haunting as the building itself. I couldn't resist exploring- that was when I found the journal.
  • I leafed through the journal's fragile yellow pages, skimming over the spidery handwriting, my eyes growing wider & then: "The finder of my journal shall be both blessed & cursed."
  • I suddenly close the journal. I light the fireplace and I throw the journal into the blazing flames. As I watch the journal burn I am terrified of what this "curse" will entail.
