Rudy Soto dreams of flying… wants to float on the wind, to soar over canyons. He doesn’t see himself some little light-winged bird that flaps and flutters when it flies.

He saw himself as a streamlined, rocket powered being that soared and twisted through the sky, and that dove through the valleys formed by the

last ice age. When he told his father this, his dad said, "You are an idiot. How can you fly when you can't even put the hose back on the side of the wall?"

Being the son of a superhero wasn't all people thought it was cracked up to be.

I mean, having to watch your dad run around in Spandex is not something any child should have to witness. But that was my life. Got really good at avoiding looking down, which is

the root of all my problems these days. That's how I would up in this pit. I would find out later that I was standing on 100 meters of rope and a grappling hook, but I still

felt that would be too easy. I wanted to challenge my limits. I figured that if I practice hard enough I could jump out of the pit. It worked in Super Mario, why not here?

"God damn hole," I muttered. This wouldn't have happened if it weren't for May. If she hadnt forgotten to take Pugsy for a walk I wouldn't have fallen down this drainage ditch.

While I'm down here, I think I'll catch a Muk or a Grimer, and then I'll show her who's the more responsible Pokemon trainer. Yeah. Or maybe a Trubbish.
