Kopi Luak or 'civet coffee! I'll just bet

  • Kopi Luak or 'civet coffee! I'll just bet a bunch of natives were sitting around half drunk and one of them said I'll bet you we could get the whities to drink Civet shit and pay

    3
  • attention to our ugly children. A native stood up and said, "I'll take that bet." The first problem was how to get a bunch of civet shit together. The ugly children were always

    2
  • sent to the jungle to play where more attractive children would not be disturbed by them. The ugly kids were great at finding the civet shit we needed. Picking through for beans,

    3
  • they found grain.

    2
  • "Impossible!" said one of the hipsters. "How did we find the grain if we've been going against it the whole time?" "Well no one expects hipsters to be non-hipsters," said another.

    5
  • We decided then and there to be "hicksters." We would sit on hay bales and argue about the philosophy of Hee-Haw. Who was pickin and who was grinnin? I played acoustic banjo in

    5
  • the mornin, harmonica in the evenin, fiddle at suppertime. By the time I went to bed each day I was about ready to

    6
  • shoot myself out of boredom. But one thing never failed to keep me afloat; and that was the yearly town Ghost Hunt.

    7
  • Wilmette started the tradition in honor of native Bill Murray who'd usher in the event by donning a protonpack & spraying Plaza del Lago. Rumor had it Charlton's ghost returned to

    4
  • Trafalger Square only to be maced and shot up with rock salt to prevent his gun-toting nouveau-riche hypocrisy. And all through the rest of the year, there was silence and courage.

Nobody expects hipsters to be non-hipsters by going against the grain. True that. Funny story, drunk man argued with me to no end that hipsters did things that weren't hip, in a total transgression of etymological convention. As I recall, he cried.
