I saw a sailor in there. I also saw another sailor over there near that. Another two over there by that riverbend and also at that oxbow. I didn’t see them for nothing and neither

did they see me, for you see, these sailors were blind, which is why they were hanging around the river's edge and not guiding a boat down it's waters. Their eyeballs had petrified

Long ago when they first laid eyes on the colossus that was slowly rising from the river. It was bigger than anything which could have been in such shallow waters.

"Paddle Faster!" yelled Frank as they turned the rubber raft around. The leviathan sucked the stream towards its large maw. "Unusual in a fresh water river." mused Beverly

. The only aquatic creatures of such size and ferocity she'd seen had been in the Coral Sea. Beverly and Frank had to escape the monster's massive maw. "Put your back into it!"

Berverly resented Franks implication that her weight would tip the balance in their favor. She let go of Frank's torso. Let him try and pull the massive sea monster on the boat.

Frank plunged into the briny deep faster then you could say "Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn!" Berverly, meanwhile, broke into an impromptu cover of "Poor Unfortunate Souls"

And made channel 7'news. The reporter loved her voice and suggested she take up acting. Beverly was ready into theatre and Frank was not there to disparage her. This was a turning.

Feeling contented, she lied down, trying to get some rest before her next big move. What exactly Beverly would do was anyone's guess, but she was sure to get her revenge.
