And another thing that really yanks on my corset strings is bears. Ants and bears to be precise. And wide mouthed frogs.

To really nail it down I have to include salamanders and sheep pigs.. So its ants and bears and wide mouthed frogs and salamanders and sheep pigs, and hairless cats and moles too.

Those hairless cats… Once I was in a book store reading. I felt the book store cat playing with my dangling umbrella string, looked down & saw a gargoyle… Add bushbabys & pill bugs

I looked deep into his eyes and said "Only your life." I then proceeded to walk away slowly from the scene as the ufo exploded. The Nike Air Max is a man's pride. Never ask for it.

Another fold based on real life. Rules prohibit a link to a commercial website, but if you do a Yahoo image search for "ripley gargoyle" the first photo of a hairless cat is THE cat. Here is the story of my first encounter with Ripley from my essay, Wildlife in San Francisco: Book Store Cats are not wild animals, but I have an interesting anecdote. I was standing reading a book with my umbrella under my arm. The string on the handle was dangling down. I felt a tug on it. Without looking up from the book, I thought, "ah, a book store cat." I moved the umbrella around and I felt another tug. We played like this a little while then I looked down and saw a creature that was not a cat. It appeared to be a gargoyle. But gargoyles aren't real creatures, yet this thing was sitting there staring up at me. I felt a rising panic as the faces of every type of animal I know flashed through my mind and none of them matched. Rat, chimpanzee, bush baby, bat - yes? no. Koala bear... The calm far away part of my mind was interested by how vividly and rapidly the images were flashing in my mind. This must be some special life or death mode of thinking. And the wrinkly creature continued to stare at me, a creature that should not be. Maybe all that supernatural stuff is real, and this was some evil demon from hell. The calm far away part of my mind became afraid. After about two seconds my mind ran out of animals and started over at the beginning with cat - hey, is it a cat without hair? Of course, it's a hairless cat. Its diabolical aura disappeared. I stroked her wrinkly head and she purred.

Thanks for sharing that. I found the cat and understand your momentary terror. Did I jostle that with my fold? Funny how folding unfolds memories.

Yah, your hairless cat jumped out at me.
