There I was, looking down the end of the tunnel, and believe it or not, the light was NOT on. So I turned around and tried to

head back as quickly as I could, but there was no escape. I was trapped in a tight blanket of darkness. Choking on my own breath, I frantically felt the walls, searching for a

switch or device, just anything that would stop the shivering darkness from getting to me. Water started to drip from the ceiling of the dark cave. Drip. Drop. Drip.

That was the only noise I could hear, as I crawled and felt my way around in the dark. I jabbed my knee on a rock in the cave, and sent out a loud howl, echoing in every direction.

Basic safety precautions when caving are to ensure you always take at minimum two torches. I wasn't even wearing a helmet. The speleological society will surely deny my membership

if they discover how recklessly ill prepared I was entering the caverns of the goblin horde. A stout footpad foraying into the unknown. I stepped on something small & cold, a ring?

An earring. There was an 8 point star inscribed on it. I jammed it into my ear. My feet hovered above the ground. I floated further down into the Gobin Horde's caverns. A shadow

of myself was cast against the cavern walls, announcing my arrival at the Plaid Hat Games. I landed squarely on Goblin Horde's Circle & pulled the 8-point star from my ear. "Who

loves the Goblins Horde will encircle the world with octostars!" I skidded to a shuddering halt. Everyone threw their plaid hats in the air woohooing. The final day of the Games
5 -
was blacked out in my area after I'd called in sick just to stay home & watch. It was as if the universe was saying "Today's not your day. And tomorrow's not looking good either."
