I never quite understood the middle aged

  • I never quite understood the middle aged woman two doors down. She wore jeans that were ten years old, and collected boxes of macaroni and cheese.

    3
  • That may be sacrilegious to certain sects. Not to mention what she does with all that macaroni! A dangerous sight. A dangerous sight indeediddley-DO. How religious are you? I am

    2
  • a moron. Seriously, I couldn't be dumber - there are bricks in buildings that are smarter than me. My god, there was this one time where I

    3
  • spelled 'their' instead of 'they're' and 'to' instead of 'too'. And I did it in the same memo! How dumb is that? My dumbassiness knows no bounds. Then there was the time when

    5
  • When the High Admiral of Punctuation arrived on his Winged Red Pen. He'd come to purge the city of the "defilers."

    4
  • With the Admiral's leadership focusing the full force of the grammar nazis, anything misspelled, punctuatively-challenged, or grammatically incorrect would be deemed unclean and

    4
  • thar ain't no one gonna say nothin' different to no damn grammar Nazi! HarHAR! Hey...wait a minute...I was kidding! Seriously, I was just jokin', Admiral. Hey, I'm sor -- BLAM!

    4
  • Admiral looked at the lifeless corpse of the grammar offender, and a rush of despair crashed on him, "Everyone thinks I'm a Nazi, what have I become! I'm a monster!" And just then

    4
  • when he thought this life could get no worse, he got a chance of redemption. Knowing his rank and his grammar skills he decided to use them for cleaning

    3
  • the canteens bathroom stall graffiti. After correcting with his red pen for a month, he realized he'd found hapiness when he read "A grammarian's life is always in tense. -anon"

Great ending, Mr. SlimWhitman! I also appreciate how the red pen reappeared right at the end. Thought you all might be interested in this recent article in the Chronicle of Higher Education about the use of red pens. :) http://chronicle.com/blogs/percolator/the-terror-of-the-red-pen/26120 Me? I always use green pens for some reason.

Thanks! I liked the reappearance of the red pen too. It's pretty amazing what a difference the red pen makes. I worked with someone who used 4 colors to indicate different feedback in a text. Great for color blind people...

    I tend to use pencil.

    That is quite humble.

Interesting link about the red pen. I use one for notes on meeting agendas but no grading for me. Strictly track changes.
